Nostradamus' way of writing

When Nostradamus wrote his so called predictions he split them up into rhymed quatrains, these are small rhyming paragraphs. Each of his quatrains relates to different events of different natures.

In the last edition of The Prophecies there were three hundred new quatrains, this final edition before his death was reportedly printed in 1558, but now only survives as part of the omnibus edition that was published after his death in 1568. All together there are now only 941 rhymed quatrains remaining.
