The Tortuguero Monument

The tablet has been studied and trasnlated by leading Mayanists such as David Stuart. He was the first person to correctly translate the tablet and recover the date '21st December 2012'.

So, lets take a look at what it says...

Unfortunately, the tablet is split in half. Sadly the bottom left corner of the tablet is missing, it may have been lost but has most likely eroded over time.

Due to the fact some of the tablet is missing we can only translate what we have, many people have tried to make educated guesses as to what the other half of the tablet says.

As a result of this no one can tell from this tablet what the Mayans predicted would actually happen when we reach the 'end of days'.

"The Thirteenth 'Bak'tun" will be finished (on) Four Ajaw, the Third of Uniiw (K'ank'in)."
Partial translation of the Tortuguero Monument

All that is clear is that this monument predicts the end of time on the 21st of December 2012. Could the Mayans be correct and have predicted the end of the world thousands of years ago?
